Collector Subbulekshmi has given permission for the public to take soil from five more lakes in Vellore district after obtaining permission. Soil collectors and farmers can take 75 cubic meters of soil per acre for free if it is a thorny land and 90 cubic meters if it is a thorny land. The public can take 30 cubic meters for free for their own needs such as building houses.
