There is a provision in the Motor Vehicles Act that a petition seeking compensation should be filed within six months of the accident. There are allegations that compensation is being rejected citing this provision. The Supreme Court, hearing this, has issued an interim order that motor accident compensation petitions should not be dismissed on the grounds of time limit.
