The Ministry of Labour and Employment had proposed to the Central Government to raise the monthly wage ceiling for mandatory coverage under the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000. The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved this proposal today.
