Depression in the Bay of Bengal: The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has announced that the deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression and is moving in a north-northwesterly direction. Consequently, heavy rains accompanied by thunder and lightning are expected across Tamil Nadu until 1:00 AM, and a warning has been issued for 31 districts, including Chennai.
