A deep depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal has intensified into Cyclone “Monda.” It has moved at 13 km/h after earlier progressing at 8 km/h. The India Meteorological Department reports that the system is likely to strengthen further into a severe cyclonic storm by tomorrow.
