Ammonia gas leak at a private shrimp processing plant in the Manjangaranai area near Periyapalayam, in the Thiruvallur district, has shaken the entire state of Tamil Nadu. The state government has taken swift action to ban the plant’s operations until further notice. It has also been announced that the factory will remain under the control of NDRF for three days.
