Electricity Board: To address the power shortage, the Tamil Nadu government has issued a tender—for the third time—to procure electricity from the open market. The Electricity Board has invited short-term bids to purchase a total of 7,000 megawatts of power—at a rate of 1,000 megawatts per month—to meet electricity demand during evening hours for the period from November to May.
