Vanni Arasu, the Minister for Social Justice, visited the Periya Kottakuppam area in Villupuram district and offered words of comfort to the affected people. He subsequently inspected the disputed cremation ground; during the visit, the residents requested that the burial ground area, which has been encroached upon by fishermen, be reclaimed for their use.
