Mulivaikkal Remembrance Day is observed annually on May 18th to commemorate the hundreds of thousands of Tamil people who perished or went missing in the Mulivaikkal region of Sri Lanka during the final stages of the Eelam War in May 2009. In keeping with this tradition, the day of remembrance is being observed today as well.
