CM Joseph Vijay had issued a decisive order to close 717 TASMAC liquor outlets in Tamil Nadu that were situated near places of worship, educational institutions, and bus stops, causing inconvenience to the public. In implementation of this order, 513 liquor outlets across the state have been identified and closed in the first phase thus far.
