TASMAC management has informed the Madras High Court that the Commercial Taxes Department has sent a letter to the government regarding the collection of an additional ₹10 cess on liquor sold at TASMAC outlets. It has been stated that there is a plan to incorporate the ₹10—currently collected separately for the return of liquor bottles—into the bottle’s MRP.
