IRCTC has started advance booking for Pongal festival train travel from November 12. Passengers planning to travel from Chennai to Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, and Salem between January 11 and 18 can now book their tickets. Southern Railway urges passengers to reserve early to avoid last-minute rush as over 7 lakh people are expected to travel by train during the Pongal holidays.
