The erode District Child Welfare Officer received a confidential tip-off that two women had bought a 9-month-old baby girl in Bhavani Palanipuram, Erode district and were raising her. When the police went to investigate, it was revealed that the 9-month-old baby had been purchased from Bangalore for Rs. 2.5 lakh.
