As the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal strengthened into a deep depression, light to moderate rains lashed various parts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, yesterday. In this situation, the Chennai Meteorological Department has said that thundershowers are likely to occur in the capital Chennai today as well as light to moderate rains at a few places in other parts of Tamil Nadu.
