The Chennai Meteorological Department has said that the southwest monsoon has spread to all parts of Tamil Nadu and the rain will continue for the next one week. Like yesterday, a red alert has been issued for Coimbatore and the Nilgiris today, and an orange alert for very heavy rain has been issued for Tenkasi, Nellai, Kumari and Theni districts.
