The Madurai Bench of the High Court had ordered that a lamp be lit on the stone pillar near the dargah in Thiruparankundram. Naam Tamilar Party coordinator Seeman has stated that the Tamil Nadu government need not appeal against this order, and that if they are asked to light a lamp, they should simply do so.
