Thaimaman Thanga Mothiram Scheme: Chief Minister Vijay launched the ‘Thai Maman Thanga Mothiram’ (Maternal Uncle’s Gold Ring) scheme in Madurai yesterday. Under this scheme, a one-gram gold ring is presented to babies born in government hospitals. The Department of Public Health reported that 3,297 rings were distributed in a single day yesterday, covering babies born since June 22.
