Tamil Nadu contributes 11.90% to India’s total Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The state’s per capita income for 2022-23 stands at ₹2.78 lakh, whereas India’s national average is ₹1.69 lakh. This means Tamil Nadu’s per capita income is 1.64 times higher than the national average, according to the economic survey report of the Tamil Nadu government.
