Major dams in Karnataka are filling up rapidly due to heavy rainfall in the Cauvery catchment areas. Meanwhile, Cauvery water released from the Karnataka dams has reached Tamil Nadu. Due to the inflow from the Karnataka dams, the water flow in the Cauvery River at Hogenakkal has increased to 1,000 cubic feet per second. Officials have stated that the inflow will be increased gradually.
