Srirangammal, a resident of near Ayodhyapatnam in Salem district. A man approached her under the pretense of inquiring about the price of the coconut milk, engaged her in conversation, and then stole her gold jewelry before fleeing the scene. It was later revealed that the individual was a suspended Village Administrative Officer (VAO). The police have since arrested the VAO.
