India is set to mandate isobutanol blending with diesel as early as this year, a move expected to have a bigger impact on energy security than ethanol blending in petrol since diesel consumption is nearly double. The initiative, backed by promising research from Bharat Petroleum, aims to cut fossil fuel dependence, lower emissions, and stabilize fuel prices for common people.
