The Meteorological Department has said that the deep depression formed in the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm in the next 12 hours. The deep depression, currently centered 720 km east-southeast of Chennai, is moving west-northwestwards at a speed of 8 kmph, the Meteorological Department said.
