There have been allegations of irregularities worth crores of rupees in the construction of roads in Thanjavur, Sivaganga and Coimbatore districts from 2018 to July 2023. A case has been registered against Jagatheesan, who retired as an administrative engineer in the Thanjavur Corporation. A case has also been registered against the 4 contract companies that constructed the roads.
