A cyclonic circulation over the Gulf of Mannar and adjoining areas of Sri Lanka is affecting southern Tamil Nadu. The weather department has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall today. Districts including Nellai, Thenkasi, Kanyakumari, and Thoothukudi may receive over 10 cm of rain, warns the meteorological center.
