The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has ruled that individuals belonging to the Christian and Muslim communities can adopt children under the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act. This judgment clarifies that the right to adopt is not limited by religion and that all citizens, irrespective of their faith, are entitled to adopt under the provisions of the JJ Act.
