Water has been released from Kallanai for irrigation in the Cauvery Delta region. The Mettur Dam was opened on the 1st of the month. While 7,000 cubic feet of water per second is being released from the Mettur Dam, the Cauvery water—having passed the Mukkombu Dam—reached Kallanai yesterday evening.
