Dhinakaran reportedly sought a political alliance with actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections. However, Vijay’s silence and his party’s decision to contest alone have disappointed Dhinakaran, who is now exploring tie-ups with smaller parties, sources say.
