Ganesh Sharma Dravid, a native of Andhra Pradesh, took charge as the new acharya of the Kanchi Shankara Madam today, on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. Ganesh Sharma was initiated into the sannyasa ashram by the current 70th pontiff of the Math, Vijayendra Saraswati Shankaracharya.
