AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has strongly criticised the DMK government, stating that the Tamil Nadu Assured Pension Scheme (TAPS) is nothing but a renamed version of the Central Government’s Unified Pension Scheme. He alleged that the scheme is a deceptive model announced to mislead government employees ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.
