TVK State Executive Committee Chief Coordinator and Kongu Region Organising Secretary K.A. Sengottaiyan visited Mettupalayam on Friday. During the visit, he attempted to garland the MGR statue at the Sirumugai Pettikuttai area, but strong opposition was raised as the statue had been installed by the AIADMK, leading to tension at the spot.
