Despite the prevalence of a fierce three-way contest in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, three candidates secured victory by a margin of nearly 100,000 votes. While Chief Minister Stalin faced defeat in the Kolathur constituency, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami achieved the largest victory margin in the entire state of Tamil Nadu.
