The Vande Bharat Express, currently operating between Chennai and Coimbatore, will henceforth be extended up to Mettupalayam. Similarly, six other trains—including those bound for Madurai, Mangalore, Kannur, and Rameswaram—have also been extended up to Mettupalayam.
