The Chennai Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert stating that heavy rain with thunder and lightning will occur in 21 districts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, in the next one hour. It has been reported that there is a possibility of rain in 21 districts including Chengalpattu, Coimbatore, Kallakurichi, Kanchipuram, Madurai, and Tenkasi.
