Rain: With the southwest monsoon intensifying, the Regional Meteorological Centre has forecast heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms in 14 districts of Tamil Nadu today, including Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, Kanniyakumari and Salem. Chennai is also likely to receive rainfall, prompting a weather alert for the city.
