A man from Brazil named Edimar was shocked to discover that a woman he had been interacting with—and whom he believed to be his dream partner—was actually an AI-generated image. He had traveled 1,900 km to meet her, after receiving a message on Facebook suggesting they live together, never realizing she was not a real person.
