Veeramani has strongly criticised the appointment of Brahmins as both minister and principal secretary of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department in Tamil Nadu. He questioned the future of social justice reforms, including the all-caste archakar scheme, and urged Chief Minister Vijay to appoint representatives from oppressed communities or women to the department.
