Heavy rain: A new low-pressure area is likely to form today over the Southwest Bay of Bengal, bringing continued heavy rain to southern districts. An orange alert is issued for the next three hours in Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, and Kanyakumari. Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, and Nagapattinam may also receive heavy rain.
