With the counting of votes for the Maharashtra local body elections held yesterday, BJP has won in 24 out of the total 29 municipal corporations. The Congress party has won in 5 municipal corporations. BJP alliance has achieved a historic victory by capturing the Mumbai Corporation, which had been a Shiv Sena stronghold for 28 years.
