Censor Board appealed against the judgment of Justice Asha of the Madras High Court, who had ordered the issuance of a censor certificate for the film ‘Jana nayagan’ starring Vijay. During the hearing of the case, the CBFC argued that the single judge had granted relief to the production company that was not sought in the petition.
