Three members of the Bawaria gang have filed an appeal in the Madras High Court challenging the life imprisonment sentence awarded by a Chennai additional sessions court. The sentence was imposed in connection with the murder of Gummidipoondi AIADMK MLA Sudharsanam and the robbery of 62 sovereigns of gold jewellery. The appeal has brought renewed focus on the high-profile case.
