The Meteorological Department has announced that a new low-pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal in the next two days, which may intensify into a depression. As a result, heavy rainfall is expected across Tamil Nadu for the next six days. For today, the department has forecast heavy rain in two districts of the state.
