A low-level atmospheric circulation is prevailing over the southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal. Due to this, the weather department has forecast thunderstorms with lightning and rain in eight districts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and Ramanathapuram, until 10 a.m. today.
