The Chennai Meteorological Centre predicts light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today. Heavy rainfall is expected in hilly areas of Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, and Kanyakumari districts. Coastal districts like Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, and Thanjavur may also receive morning showers.
