Due to heavy rains in Chennai and Tiruvallur Ranipet districts following the intensification of the northeast monsoon, a holiday has been declared for schools today. Meanwhile, heavy rains have been reported in Chengalpattu district adjacent to Chennai. Students were disappointed as no holiday was declared there.
