The government has decided to immediately implement the metro rail project from Airport to kilambakkam and is going to start work by allocating Rs. 1,964 crore in the first phase. If traffic on GST Road is to run smoothly, a diversion route is needed at the Tambaram entrance gate. There is a demand that the Tambaram Eastern Bypass project be completed on a war footing.
