A 10-year-old girl in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district was sexually assaulted, and despite a week passing, no arrests have been made, leading to strong protests from opposition parties. In response to the growing outrage and to potentially aid in the investigation or maintain order, armed police have intensified vehicle checks at the Elavur checkpost on the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border.
