The southwest monsoon began in Tamil Nadu as early as May. It is expected to intensify during the month of June. Due to this, changes have been made to the schedules of 37 express trains operating on the railway route from Tamil Nadu through the west coast — specifically via the states of Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka.
