Seventeen people, including eight children, were killed as a fire broke out near Gulzar House in the Hyderabad Old City, an area close to the historical monument Charminar. Due to the narrow lanes and poor access to the site, assistance was quickly called in from nearby fire stations. Union Minister Kishan Raeddy says the accident happened due to a short circuit.
