“Ayyana Mane,” a new Kannada web series on ZEE5, directed by Ramesh Indira and produced by Shruti Naidu, attempts to break free from the typical television soap opera format. Set in 1990s Chikmagalur, the six-episode mini-series follows Jaaji, a newlywed who moves into her husband’s ancestral home and becomes entangled in a murder mystery involving a seemingly cursed lineage of daughter-in-laws.
