Veerasamy was elected as the chairman of Mambakkam Panchayat under Thiruporur Panchayat Union in Chengalpattu district in 2021. The Chengalpattu District Collector has taken action by removing the chairman of Mambakkam Panchayat Council after allegations of acting arbitrarily and misappropriating panchayat funds were raised.
